Careers Education
We are dedicated to preparing our students for a successful future through a comprehensive Careers Education, Information, Advice, and Guidance (CEIAG) programme. Tailored to meet the needs of students with SEND and SEMH challenges, our careers programme helps young people develop the knowledge, skills, and character required to achieve their aspirations and thrive in life beyond school.
Our Careers Programme
We aim to equip our students with the tools to flourish as confident, creative, and caring individuals. Through our holistic, therapeutic approach rooted in Reality/Choice Therapy, we guide our learners toward fulfilling their potential and becoming active participants in a more inclusive and equitable society.
Our careers programme is aligned with the Gatsby Benchmarks of Good Career Guidance to ensure students receive high-quality support. Key elements include:
-
Career Planning with The Prince’s Trust: Providing structured career planning activities that help students explore their interests and plan their future pathways.
-
Employer Engagement: Regular encounters with employers through workshops, careers fairs, and vocational taster days to inspire and inform students about the world of work.
-
Work Experience Opportunities: Both internal and external placements that give students real-world experience in fields aligned with their interests and strengths.
-
Skills Development: Embedding careers education into the curriculum to link academic learning with practical skills and future career opportunities.
-
Individualised Support: Targeted careers guidance to address the specific needs of each pupil, including EHCP-focused Preparing for Adulthood outcomes.

Activities
Throughout the academic year, students participate in assemblies, lessons, and events linked to apprenticeships, vocational skills, and higher education.
Programmes such as Springpod Virtual Work Experience and the ASK Programme (funded by the DfE) provide further enrichment opportunities.
The values of Resilience, Independence, Success, and Empowerment underpin our approach to CEIAG. By embedding these values in every aspect of the careers programme, we empower students to take ownership of their future and embrace opportunities with confidence.
Measuring Impact
We continually evaluate the success of our careers programme, tracking student destinations, including academic pathways, apprenticeships, employment, and the reduction of NEET (Not in Education, Employment, or Training) outcomes. This ensures that we remain focused on achieving the best possible outcomes for our students.
Through our carefully designed CEIAG programme, Rise Education School equips students with the skills, knowledge, and confidence to build bright futures and make meaningful contributions to their communities.
