Promoting Values in Britain

Five British Values

We actively promote British Values by fostering democracy, the rule of law, individual liberty, mutual respect, and tolerance, ensuring our students are well-prepared to thrive in a diverse and inclusive society.

At Rise, we are committed to promoting and embedding British Values into all aspects of school life, ensuring that students develop a strong sense of respect, understanding, and responsibility within our diverse society. These values are integral to our curriculum, culture, and ethos, and we actively work to prepare our students for life in modern Britain.

Democracy

We teach the importance of having a voice through student councils, class discussions, and collaborative decision-making opportunities. By participating in democratic processes, students learn to respect differing opinions and understand the value of civic responsibility.

The Rule of Law

Our students are guided to understand the significance of rules and laws in maintaining fairness and order in society. Through classroom charters, clear behaviour expectations, and partnerships with external organisations such as the police, we reinforce the importance of abiding by and respecting the law.

Individual Liberty

We empower students to make informed choices, express themselves freely, and understand their rights and responsibilities. By fostering a safe and inclusive environment, we encourage students to grow in confidence and develop a strong sense of personal freedom.

Mutual Respect

Respect is a cornerstone of our school values. We actively promote kindness, empathy, and understanding among all members of our community, celebrating diversity and ensuring everyone feels valued and included.

Tolerance of Those with Different Faiths and Beliefs

Through our curriculum, assemblies, and cultural celebrations, we expose students to the rich tapestry of cultures, religions, and beliefs within our community and beyond. This helps build understanding, acceptance, and appreciation of differences, preparing our students to thrive in a multicultural world.

At Rise, our commitment to British Values ensures our students leave school as respectful, informed, and active members of society, ready to contribute positively to their communities and beyond.
